GCG MARKETING HIRING ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

Job summary: As part of the GCG team, our Account Executives are the link between our clients and the agency. You’ll be responsible for maintaining a tight relationship with speci c accounts, identifying needs and selling GCG services and talents to meet those needs. Of course, our art directors, copywriters and marketing folks will back you up with killer work. As a team, we pool our well-honed skills to craft dynamic campaigns that will impact our clients’ bottom line. Your job is to make sure projects stay on track, manage expectations and keep the communication owing. And your ability to nurture and build relationships with current and potential clients is huge.

Key responsibilities:
Educate clients on agency philosophy and processes, and set the tone of the partnership
Conduct extensive research on the client’s business and competitors
Help client define the role the agency can play in helping meet business objectives
Create and execute revenue strategies, account planning and business processes for assigned accounts and submit to Account Supervisor for approval
Develop proposals and present project plans and cost estimates to clients for approval or modi cation
Regularly communicate with clients to understand their long-term goals and make recommendations for/against certain tactics as appropriate
Arrange and chair meetings with clients and other agency staff
Distribute work to other members of the agency team and ensure all team members on the account have the proper resources to complete the job
Collaborate with media, creative and research staff to develop marketing strategies Review and approve all work before it moves into nal production
Secure all client approvals and maintain careful records
Negotiate with clients and agency staff regarding details of campaigns
and projects
Establish, monitor and manage project timelines and prioritize tasks
Create, monitor and manage project budgets
Report on client campaigns and project financial details
Monitor the effectiveness of campaigns and projects
Help to secure new business and constantly monitor existing accounts for growth opportunities
Manage Account Coordinators when appropriate to ensure best project execution
May be required to formally evaluate team members and provide appropriate input to HR processes
Perform other tasks as assigned

Clients, Vendors, Contractors, Media

Qualifications
Education: B.A. in Business, Management, Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Public Relations or Liberal Arts
Work experience: 3+ years of relevant experience, including advertising sales, public relations, project management, marketing or consulting; agency experience
and knowledge of healthcare and pharmaceutical marketing is a plus

Knowledge and skill set requirements:
Strong business understanding and project management skills, including managing numerous projects simultaneously
Ability to work in a dynamic environment, combining strategizing, planning and problem-solving skills
Excellent organization skills, attention to detail and follow-through to resolve any outstanding issues
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of personalities
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of sales activities, including lead generation, prospecting, qualifying, new business pitches, preparation of sales materials and communications, client interaction and entertaining, and other duties required to successfully manage and develop key accounts
Ability to identify key advertising opportunities and develop value propositions and sales strategies
Solid understanding of business terminology and contract negotiations
Flexibility and adaptability in client relationships and team management
Ability to lead and in uence those not in a reporting relationship
Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure
In-depth knowledge of traditional and digital media and their competitive landscape Good budgeting/estimating skills
Strong professional appearance and persona
Good presentation and analytic skills
Highly pro cient in use of Microsoft Of ce products and internet browsers
