FORT WORTH, TX (November 5, 2019) — The American Advertising Federation–Fort Worth (AAF–-Fort Worth) will kick off its annual, local American Advertising Awards competition, aka “The ADDYs,” during a happy hour at Heim Barbecue in the River District (5333 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth) on Thursday, November 14.

During the happy hour, attendees will get their first look at this year’s creative theme, “Anyone Can Win 2020,” created by local, full-service graphic design firm Robeegraffix Advertising Design, who took home Best of Show in 2018 and Best of Print in 2019 in conjunction with Kisabeth Furniture.

Attendees will also learn about changes to entry categories, this year’s judges and judging process. They will also be able to pick up entry envelopes containing instructions for submissions, which will be accepted at Near South Studios between the hours of 1 and 5 p.m. on Dec. 13, 2019 and between 1 and 7 p.m. on Jan. 10, 2020.

The ADDY Awards are a monumental part of the year for those in the advertising industry, because it allows professionals and students to submit their work to be judged in a three-tiered competition —beginning at the local level, with potential to advance to the district and national stages.

“AAF Fort Worth is thrilled to be kicking off our award season,” AAF-Fort Worth President Laurel McEuen said. “Our 2020 AAA creative campaign is one everyone can rally around and endorse. Year after year, our community of advertisers produces work worthy of recognition at the local, district and national levels of the competition. I can't wait to see who and what work is in the running! Whether a big agency or a freelancer, an art director or account coordinator, now's the time to get in the race -- it really is anyone's AAAs! Our judges this year, who are coming to us from the likes of Oglivy (Chicago, IL and London, England), Brand Society (New Orleans, LA), and Signal Theory (Kansas City, MO) are going to have their work cut out for them.”

Judging at the local level will take place in January, and winners will be announced during the ADDY Gala in February.

About the ADDY Awards

The American Advertising Awards (The ADDYs) is the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition, attracting more than 35,000 entries every year in local AAF Ad Club competitions. The mission of the American Advertising Awards competition is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising. Conducted annually by the AAF, the local Ad Club phase is the first of a three-tier, national competition. Concurrently, all across the country, local entrants vie to win ADDY Awards—recognition as the very best in their markets. At the second tier, local ADDY winners compete against winners from other local clubs in one of 15 district competitions. District ADDY winners are then forwarded to the third tier, the national stage of the American Advertising Awards. Entry in your local Ad Club competition is the first step toward winning a national ADDY.
